The Grainite 2309 release is a limited production ready (PR) release meant for Grainite Design Partners. This release is suitable for continued application development, production deployments and creation of operational practices for Grainite Clusters.

New Features:

• Grainite cluster upgrades can now be done with zero downtime, no restart required.

• Grainite already provides the ability to encrypt data at rest via a Grainite-provided master key. Now as another option, a key can be provided via Google Cloud KMS instead. Instructions can be found here.

• Preview: Role Based Access Control (RBAC). RBAC allows administrators to set specific privileges and permissions on a per-role or per-user basis. Audit logging and other enhancements to RBAC are coming soon. This capability is not yet production-ready, and we’re providing a preview to gather feedback. We recommend creating a new, temporary secure cluster if you’re interested in getting hands-on with RBAC. We appreciate your feedback in advance.
